The Language Arts Department offers two advanced placement courses: AP Language and Composition and AP Language and Literature

1. Score no lower than 3 on an advanced writing sample
2. Provide teacher recommendation from their current English teacher
3. Demonstrate high achievement in their current English class
4. Fulfill the summer reading and writing requirement and submit their work on the first day of class

AP Composition
Students seeking admission to AP Language and Composition must

• Language Arts Advanced Placement Vertical Teams and Reading List

AP Literature
The units in this course have been organized after thorough analysis of the topics and content recommended by the College Board. Course texts have been selected from those recommended by national Advanced Placement curricula and study programs.
