The Souderton Area School District Wellness Department supports quality health and physical education that provides a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate program of structured learning activities intended to engage students in the pursuit of lifetime wellness.

Through participation in our courses, students will gain experience and knowledge in various areas related to health, fitness, and overall wellness.

  1. Students will participate in a variety of fitness and sport activities they can use throughout their lifetime.
  2. Students will have the opportunity to practice interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills that will help them to successfully participate in a class environment as well as in future endeavors.
  3. Students will use technology to manage information.

Note: Students may not wear jewelry during physical education classes. Students should avoid getting body piercings during or immediately preceding a marking period during which they have physical education. Plastic inserts may be used during class.

Required courses:
Through participation in Health I, PE I (both taken during the 9th or 10th grade academic year) Wellness courses, students will experience a multifaceted curriculum covering all areas of health, wellness, and sport.

Advanced Wellness Electives:
Our advanced courses offer students a more specialized and challenging curriculum in a variety of interest areas.

Certificate Programs
Courses that offer certification at the completion of the course:

  • First Aid/CPR/Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Lifeguard Training and Adventure

Those interested in pursuing a career related to health, wellness, and sport will gain exposure to the physical and intellectual aspects related to the field through participation in our program.
