The High School Community

Located 25 miles north of Philadelphia, just off Rte. 309, the Souderton Area School District can be characterized as a growing semi-rural community of 39,000 residents. The school district encompasses 49 square miles and the entire school district has approximately 6,700 students. In September 2009, the new 9-12 Souderton Area High School opened its doors to students. Situated on 104 acres in Franconia Township, the new building is 445,000 square feet. The high school consists of 22 state-of-the-art science labs, an integrated arts wing, including an auditorium surrounded by art, technology education, and music rooms, as well as a television studio and video editing lab. The academic wing of the building houses two 3-story wings of 78 regular classrooms, which surround a spacious library. The academic wing also has 14 multi-purpose computer labs.
