AP Final Exam Exemption Guideline

Students who earn a 75% or higher grade through the 2nd (for a semester course) or the 4th (All-year course) Marking Period of an AP class will be exempt from the final exam if they take the AP exam. This means that if on the last day of class the cumulative grade of a student who took the AP exam drops to 74.4%, that student would need to take the final exam, which would count for 20% of his/her class grade.

The goal is to encourage students to take the AP exam who have demonstrated the potential to earn college credit (AP exam score of 3 or higher) through their in-class achievement.
