2/9/2011: SASD revises school calendar due to snow days
Due to the unusual winter weather this year, Souderton students and teachers/instructional staff have lost 5 school days that need to be made up in order to reach the required hours/minutes and student days. The original date for the last day for students was June 16, 2011; last day for teachers was June 17, 2011.
The Souderton Area School District Board of Directors have approved the following changes:
Jan. 12, 2011
Snow Day #1 |
Make-Up Day-Wed., March 9, 2011 – Early Dismissal – Instructional Day
This day was a teacher in-service day that will be added to the end of the school year. This day will become an early dismissal day for students

Elementary students dismissed at 1:45 PM

Kindergarten will have an abbreviated schedule:
AM Schedule–8:45–10:45 AM
PM Schedule–11:45 AM–1:45 PM |

Snow Day #2 |
Make-Up Day-Thurs., April 21, 2011 – Instructional Day
This day was a scheduled holiday for students and teachers. Offices were scheduled to be open on this day. |

Snow Day #3 |
Make-Up Day-Tues., May 17, 2011 – Instructional Day
This day was a teacher in-service day, plus spring primary day, with voting taking place at Oak Ridge and Indian Valley Schools. This in-service day will be scheduled at the end of the year. |

Make-Up Day-Fri., June 17, 2011 – Early Dismissal – Instructional Day
The original last day of school was scheduled for June 16, 2011. June 17th was a scheduled make-up day on the original calendar approved by the Board on March 25, 2010. Last day for Kindergarten students. Abbreviated Kindergarten schedule
AM Schedule – 8:45 – 10:45 AM
PM Schedule – 11:45 AM – 1:45 PM
Early Dismissal for Students:
Secondary students dismissed at 1:00 PM
Elementary students dismissed at 1:45 PM |

Make-Up Day-Mon., June 20, 2011 – Early Dismissal – Last Student Day
The original last day of school was scheduled for June 16, 2011. June 20th was a scheduled make-up day on the original calendar approved by the Board on March 25, 2010. June 20, 2011 will now be the last day of school for students.
Early Dismissal for Students:
Secondary students dismissed at 10:00 AM
Elementary students dismissed at 10:45 AM |
| June 21, 22, and 23, 2011 |
These days will be make-up days for teachers, which will include two in-service days and one teacher flex day. Teachers will finish their required work days on June 23rd. |
Any additional make-up days would be added at the end of the school year, starting with June 21, 22, 23, and so on.
