Students > Guidance > 2007-2008 Course Selection Information

Current sophomores and juniors will be receiving a copy of the 2007-2008 Program of Studies and their course selection sheets in their advisory on Wednesday, January 31. Counselors will begin meeting individually with students to review their course selections starting Monday, February 5. Counselors will be meeting with students in their English classes for students who have English in the spring semester. Counselors will call down students who had English classes in the fall semester according the schedule that can be found at the following Students > Academics > 2007-2008 Course Selection Calendar link (PDF).

Parents are encouraged to discuss the courses their son/daughter is planning to take and sign the course selection sheet prior to the student-counselor meetings. Please note that some minor changes have been made since the Program of Studies was printed and that the most up-to-date information on courses can be found on the High School's Web site at the following Students > Academics > Course Offerings (Program of Studies) link.

Parents and students need not worry if the time scheduled for individual course selection is later in February or early in March. Classes and sections for the 2007-2008 school year will be based on all of the requests made by all students, and classes/sections will not "close" or be "full" until after every student has had the opportunity to meet with his/her counselor.

If parents have specific concerns, they should contact their son/daughter's counselor. Please note that during the month of February, counselors will be out of the office on most days during most blocks in order to afford every student the opportunity to individually meet with his/her counselor.
