Who is eligible for GED testing?
- Pennsylvania residents 18 years or older not enrolled in an approved or licensed secondary school.
- Pennsylvania residents 16-17 years old but not enrolled in an approved or licensed secondary school at the written request of one of the following:
- An employer who requires a high school equivalency for job opportunities;
- A college or university official who will accept applicants on the basis of GED test scores;
- A recruiting officer for persons who wish to enter a branch of the armed forces and who are required to have a high school equivalency; and
- The director of a state institution for residents, patients, or inmates - no earlier than 90 days before their anticipated release or discharge from the institution.
