SAHS Hall of Fame Inductee, Jay Stover

The Souderton Area High School Alumni Association is very proud to announce the 2018 Inductee into the Souderton Area High School Alumni Association Hall of Fame:

Jay Stover (1953)
Community Leader

The formal induction occurred on Friday, September 14, 2018, as part of Souderton Area High School’s Homecoming festivities.  Mr. Stover spoke with students in the high school Auditorium, followed by a luncheon at The Bay Pony Inn.  He will be introduced on the 50-yard line prior to the Homecoming football game against William Tennent at 7:00 PM.

Jay Stover’s Biography
Jay Stover’s commitment to his community was remarkable, serving as Mayor of Telford Borough for 28 years, from 1986-2014, and on the Telford Borough Council for 12 years, from 1974–1986.  Jay was a member and Past-President of the Telford Lions Club, as well as a Deacon Elder at Christ Reformed Church at Indian Creek.  Mr. Stover also served on the Indian Valley Public Library Board, and he was a Past- Chairman of the Montgomery County Mayor’s Association.

Jay Stover spent his career as a civil engineer for Urwiler and Walter in its Lansdale, Souderton, and Telford offices for 39 years, from 1958–1997.  He earned his BS in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University.
