SAHS > Fifth Annual Shifting of the Classes

The fifth annual Shifting of the Classes Ceremony sponsored by the Character Counts committee of SAHS was held on Thursday, May 29, 2008.

Seniors, Juniors and Sophomores were seated in the gym at designated postings. Seniors were escorted from the bleachers to the gym floor through a tunnel of faculty, staff and community members. They were given a standing ovation to demonstrate how proud the district is of their accomplishments and wishing them the best in their future. Some of the students' favorite songs were played as they walked down the bleachers and through the tunnel of well wishers. They proceeded from the gymnasium to the cafeteria. The graduating seniors signed a Class of 2008 banner by tracing their hand and signing it; the banner will be hung at graduation and high school reunions. Seniors also had the opportunity to write a quick thank you note to some of their favorite teachers they have had throughout the years at Souderton High.

Underclassmen will be welcomed into the next grade (juniors will shift over in the bleachers to the seniors section, sophomores will be welcomed into next year’s junior class. A memory in the making!
