ESL: Exit Criteria for English Language Learners

Multiple criteria will be used to determine when ELLs will be able to exit from the ESL program. ELLs will exit ESL when:

1. they attain a score of Basic or above in reading and math PSSA’s;
2. they attain an overall score of 5 Bridging on Tier C on the WIDA Access, a test of language proficiency;
3. they attain final grades of C or better in core subjects or scores on district-wide assessments that are comparable to Basic on the PSSA.
