National Finalist 2019 Neuroscience Research Prize

Photograph of Neuroscience Research Prize WinnerSenior Priya Devanarayan has worked on independent science projects throughout her high school career. During the past two years, she has collaborated with mentors at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) on projects that focused on neurology topics.  Her project, “Spinal Muscular Atrophy Research,” was submitted to the American Academy of Neurology (AAN).  Her most recent project, “Identification of a Simple and Novel Diagnostic for Predicting Alzheimer’s Disease Progression,” was presented at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference this past summer under the category of “late breaking research.”  Because of her work on this project, Priya was selected as one of only 12 National Finalists for the 2019 Neuroscience Research Prize provided by the American Academy of Neurology High School Neuroscience Competition.
