Parking Rules:

  • Only juniors and seniors may purchase a parking sticker. Freshmen and Sophomores are not eligible to do so under any circumstances.

  • Students are not permitted to purchase a parking permit if they have outstanding obligations (food services account balance, unpaid parking violations, unreturned books/materials) from the previous school year, until they are resolved.

  • Students receiving parking privileges must register every vehicle they drive to school. If you drive an unregistered vehicle to school (for any reason) you must report to the 11/12 Student Services Office on or before that day.

  • Stickers must be properly affixed on the inside, bottom, passenger side of the windshield on the registered vehicle.

  • Parking stickers are NON-TRANSFERRABLE. Giving, receiving, trading, making duplicates, selling a sticker or spot, or sharing of one spot with another student will result in the removal of parking privileges. Cars with laminated, taped on, or improperly affixed stickers are subject to being ticketed, and parking privileges may be revoked.

  • The fee structure for parking violations are as follows:
    • 1st Offense: $10
    • 2nd Offense: $15
    • 3rd Offense: $25 and Potential loss of parking privileges.

  • Students who park illegally or without proper authorization are subject to having their vehicle immobilized by a parking boot.
    *Boot removal is $25.00 in addition to the parking fine listed above

  • Students driving to school must follow all regulations of the school and Motor Vehicle Code of Pennsylvania. Failure to do so will result in the loss of parking privileges.

  • Parking lots are inspected on a daily basis including visual inspections of the interior of vehicles. Vehicles are subject to searches if any suspicious items are observed including but not limited to, tobacco products and alcohol.

  • Students must only utilize their assigned parking spot and shall not change spots until school has been dismissed; this includes early dismissal for academic and/or athletic events.

  • Students driving to school must follow all regulations of the school and Motor Vehicle Code of Pennsylvania. Failure to do so will result in the loss of parking privileges. Depending upon the nature of the violation, there may be other disciplinary consequences.

Parking Lot Procedures:

  1. Parking Lot Assignment:
    SAHS has two parking lots for students, the Lower Road Lot (nearest the main entrance) and the Halteman Road Lot (nearest the pool/gym entrance)

  2. Parking spaces are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

  3. All vehicles parking on school property must display a valid parking sticker.

  4. Students are not permitted to drive through the Halteman gate entrance / exit. Only parents dropping off students are permitted. Failure to follow this rule will result in a suspension of driving privileges.

  5. Students driving to school are not permitted to use their car (whether parked on school property or not) during the school day without expressed permission from the office and their parents. Students are not permitted to drive other student(s) to North Montco Technical Career Center.

  6. Students driving to school should also be aware that school attendance laws of Pennsylvania do not consider impassable roads or a disabled vehicle as a valid excuse for being absent or late. In addition, please note that parking is a privilege subject to revocation for violation of school policies and procedures.

Please Note the Following Important Information:

In order to purchase a parking space, the student must have a valid driver’s license and be a member of the junior or senior class. Members of the freshman or sophomore class are not permitted to drive to school UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. If a freshman or sophomore is found in violation of this policy they will not be permitted to purchase a parking space as a junior or senior. Driving to school is a privilege. Students with excessive tardies to school without a valid excuse may receive driving suspensions and/or have their parking privileges revoked. All parking spaces are permanent. Once you have been issued a spot, this will remain your spot for the year.
