Graduation: No In-Person Ceremony

June 25, 2020

As Montgomery County prepares to move to the “green” phase of state pandemic management, we wanted to communicate with you about our decision-making process around whether we can safely host an in-person graduation in our stadium this summer. The “green” phase limits us to crowds of 250 or fewer, and family participation would have to be limited.

The Class of 2020 Farewell Parade, Virtual Graduation, and other end year on-line events created some dynamic and unique experiences for Souderton’s seniors to celebrate the closure to their high school careers.

As an administrative team we have felt that trying to do a scaled-down, limited, in-person stadium graduation might actually diminish the sense of closure and celebration that our seniors had a chance to experience over the last few weeks. Therefore, we have decided that we will not hold an in-person graduation this summer.

Our plan is to distribute yearbooks and diplomas during the week of July 13th. Please look for more information with details.

Again, congratulations to our senior class. We can’t wait to see what their futures hold.

Have a great summer!
