SCHOOL DAY 142 – B DAY  

 

Creative Arts Club will meet tomorrow, Thursday, April 18th during Red Zone in Room B116.

There will be a Ski and Snowboarding Club meeting tomorrow, Thursday, April 18th during Red Zone and immediately after school in Room A149. Any student interested in attending the trip to Vermont next winter should plan to attend one of the meetings!

The Academic Decathlon kickoff meeting for next school year's season will be held in Mr. Cerami's room, A224, after school tomorrow, Thursday, April 18th. Pizza will be served!

GSA meeting in Room B108 after school tomorrow, Thursday, April 18th.

Join the Spanish Language and Culture Club on Friday, April 19th during Red Zone in Room A103 to hear Andrew Cook talk about the trip to Spain over Spring Break! He will be sharing pictures and lots of interesting facts about their visits to Granada, Madrid, and Barcelona.

Huge Anime/Manga Club meeting directly after school on Friday, April 19th in the student center until 4PM. Donuts provided.

During Block 2.5 on Monday, April 22nd, grades 9,10 and 11 will reset their Google password. Block 2.5 teachers will guide students through this process on Monday. Students will need to save their new password in their phone Notes.

STUDENTS:  You will not believe what is in the lunchroom on April 22nd. #Soudyearthday, wear green next Monday.

Link Crew 2024-2025: Please make sure you submit your code of conduct and pay your dues by Monday, April 22nd. Failure to do so will forfeit your opportunity to remain in Link Crew. Questions? Email Mrs. Dickerson.

Book lovers! The SAHS Book Club’s selection for April is Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin. We will meet on Friday, April 26th from 3-4PM in Room A331 to discuss—all are welcome—including all staff! See Mrs. Wilson with questions.

Junior Prom will be held on Saturday, April 27th in the cafeteria from 6:30 - 9:30PM. Tickets are $45 and will be sold digitally via our website which can be viewed by scanning the QR code on the posters found around the school. The deadline to purchase tickets is midnight, Monday, April 22nd. For more information, check our website. Attention Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors:  If you’re interested in joining the SAHS Student Council, we are looking for representatives! Complete the application on Schoology or scan the QR code on the fliers posted around the building. Forms are due by Monday, April 29th. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Kling (Room 340).

Students interested in engineering, manufacturing, HVAC, and welding please pick up a permission form for the field trip to Worth & Company on Tuesday, April 30th. Space is limited. Permission forms can be picked up in Guidance. See Mr. Darcy with questions.

 

GUIDANCE INFORMATION:

The Tracey Hottenstein Memorial Scholarship is open to any female senior who is interested in the sciences, has been involved in Athletics (especially lacrosse and cheerleading, but not limited to). They should also be active in extra-curricular leadership positions. Please apply on Naviance. The deadline is Friday, May 10th.

Attention students that may be interested in finding out about what types of careers are offered through the military. Recruitment officers from the different military branches set up a table in the lunchroom once a month. This allows an opportunity for students to ask questions directly with the recruitment officer. There are representatives from:  Navy, Army, Army ROTC, Marines, Coast Guard and Army National Guard. There is a schedule posted of the visitation days on the wall outside of the Guidance Office.

Attention all Seniors! There are numerous scholarship opportunities available to pursue that are listed on Naviance. Some of the categories include: First Generation College-Bound students, Minority Students in Leadership Roles, Community and School Involvement, and Specific Career Paths. Be sure to check them out. Any questions, please see your Guidance Counselor. 

 

ATHLETIC RESULTS:

  • Boys Lacrosse beat Central Bucks East 11-10
  • Boys Tennis beat Lansdale Catholic 5-0
  • Softball beat Truman 11-0
  • Baseball beat Truman 3-0
  • Boys Volleyball lost to Pennridge
  • Boys Track lost to North Penn - Congratulations to: Felix Suliveres' set the school record in the 100m dash with a time of 10.82 seconds. He also won the 200m dash. The 4x100m team set a new school record - the team of Suliveres, McNeil, Solly, and Pagent Thomas ran 42.89 seconds. Will Stover broke his own school record in Pole Vault clearing 14 feet and 3 inches.
  • Girls Track lost to North Penn - Congratulations to:  Ava Mills broke a 28-year-old school record with a 12.26 in the 100 M dash.  Destini Smith broke a 43-year-old school record with a 18-5.5 Long Jump
