Art & Music Student Spotlight Winners - October 2024
Student Spotlight winners are selected each month by designated departments to recognize students who are committed to working hard, display excellent character traits, and are a composite of the best of Souderton’s pride. ART WINNERS:
- Lilyan Jamison
Lilyan is a talented artist dedicated to her craft and continuously growing her skills. Her exceptional technical drawing abilities and whimsical mark-making style set her apart. Despite her quiet demeanor, Lilyan is equipped with great skill, and we are excited to see her continue her artistic and creative journey, sharing her unique creative visions. -Ms. Bauer
- Peter McMahon
Peter McMahon is a talented and thoughtful artist. He showed off his skills in Printmaking class with some really great artwork accompanied with a unique humorous spin. He is always seeking advice and feedback on his projects, which pushes him to put forth his best work. Peter also brings a level of joy and positivity to the classroom. We are looking forward to seeing Peter in more art classes! -Mr. Redmond
- Lilly Garofano
Lilly is a hardworking and dedicated artist who consistently puts forth her best efforts and isn’t afraid to seek help when needed. Her quick creativity and authentic style shine through in her work, whether she’s dabbling in clay, printmaking, drawing, or painting. We are incredibly fortunate to have Lilly’s talent and passion enriching our art department. -Ms. Bauer
- Patrick Kemp
Patrick Kemp is an up and coming artist. He really shined this year and especially in Clay 2 on the wheel. He is dedicated to improving his skills and spending his time in the clay studio. He is always thinking outside the box with ambitious ideas. Patrick is also a member of the clay club and has been actively involved in the club each week. We are excited to see his interest and creativity continue each year. -Mr. Redmond
- Kaylie Warshaw
Kaylie is a bubbly and ambitious student always willing to go the extra mile. As an artist Kaylie strives to improve her technical skills and regularly seeks feedback. Kaylie is conscientious and has a tremendous eye for detail. The art department appreciates Kaylie’s commitment and passion for the arts and knows that Kaylie will go far in her future endeavors. -Ms. Pistoria
- Austin Frigerio
Austin Frigerio is an extremely gifted artist. He is constantly producing artwork that is innovative, challenging and truly awe inspiring. Austin is always in the clay studios during his free time and never stops creating. His ability to capture true likeness in an art form such as clay is undeniable. He is going to be one to watch out for in the future! -Mr. Redmond
- Alex Albert
Alex is a very creative and thoughtful student. Alex is considerate of others and strives to foster an inclusive environment both in the classroom and in Art for Social Change Club. As an artist Alex has demonstrated tremendous commitment and passion in the development of her skillset. Alex’s ability to fuse creativity and intentionality will make her a tremendous asset to any industry. -Ms. Pistoria
- Riley Kihm
Riley Kihm is a true independent voice in the building and a strong influence in the art classrooms. He approaches every task with his own spin, his own vision, and the results are universally wonderful. His craftsmanship and attention to detail is clear, but it is his unique takes on all his projects that sets him above his peers. - Mr. Redmond
MUSIC WINNERS:
- Carmilla (Millie) Moffatt
Millie has made her mark on the music department in her first few months of high school. She is not only a musical leader in her Concert Choir class, but even earned a spot in crimson, the auditioned a cappella group…and snagged one of the first solos of the year! Millie has an infectious positivity and gives her all in each rehearsal. – Mr. Carlin
- Max Rohrbaugh
Max has immediately made a name for himself in the music department as a freshman by not only being accepted into the top jazz ensemble, but he also participates in Rock Band and Marching Band. Max is unbelievably talented, has an amazing work ethic, and demonstrates the qualities of a model music student. – Mr. Tucker
- Ava Collaton-Lomas
Ava is a consistent presence in the choir room, whether shining in Advanced Choir rehearsals or taking to a practice room in RedZone or study hall, Ava is an absolutely diligent student musician. She brings fun and levity to any rehearsal she is a part of including her extra-curricular ensembles. - Mr. Carlin
- Liam Connolly
Liam is as involved as it gets within the music department. During the day you can find him playing violin in orchestra, singing in Advanced Choir, and even after school after earning a spot in crimson this year. Liam brings such great effort and attention to his music making and tops it all off with a ton of fun personality tossed into the rehearsal. - Mr. Carlin
- Milan DiLella
Milan is an absolute model music student. In rehearsal, she is focused on the music and making music with those around her. Milan also knows the focus on her individual musicianship, spending time in the practice room prepping not just for assigned assessments or auditions, but just for daily rehearsals. Milan’s passion for music is obvious and undeniable. - Mr. Carlin
- Chaya Thomas
Chaya has been involved with the music program throughout her four years at SAHS. Not only is she an exemplary trumpet player, she has organized numerous fundraisers and extracurricular music activities to raise money for various charities. It is truly humbling to see such a charitable and generous young person representing the music department! – Mr. Tucker
- Mason Benner
Mason has been involved with almost every aspect of the music department in his four years as a percussionist. He embodies all of the qualities of a model student; immeasurable talent, a born leader, and a willingness to always keep learning. – Mr. Tucker
- Tristan McGiboney
Tristan has been a valued member of the Souderton Lab Band for three years. He is always positive and a wonderful role model for the younger students in the band. Tristan is a leader in the ensemble and a true team player never wanting to slide into the spotlight. - Ms. Simpson
