About
The goal of SAHS Pathway 360° is to ensure that all students are considering their post-high school goals as they plan and select courses during their four years in high school. The hope is that engaging students in goal-related conversations will make their high school education more relevant while also preparing them to make more informed post-high school decisions.

What is pathwayMANAGER?
PathwayMANAGER is an electronic monitoring system that supports Pathway 360°. It manages student preferences, provides high school course recommendations, monitors student usage of features, and sends and collects information via survey. Students can access pathwayMANAGER through the high school’s website. Their log-in is the same as the one used in school.
What are the main components of Pathway 360°?
Components such as a 5th Block with career-based activities, career expos, job shadowing, mentorships, and a senior presentation are all focused on assisting students with important decisions regarding their future plans. Students maintain an electronic portfolio through the process. Starting in 8th grade, students determine which pathway best fits their career goals. At Souderton, there are four Pathways: Business & Communication, Arts & Humanities, Industry & Engineering, and Health & Human Services.
What are the expectations of students in each grade?
In addition, students are required to maintain a portfolio in pathwayMANAGER, showcasing their experiences. Students must complete “whole course” or “exemplar” reflections. A whole course reflection is a summary of what was learned in a course and how it has helped define/expand career goals. An exemplar reflection is similar, only the focus is on a particular assignment. The following displays which artifacts should be uploaded per grade:
9th | 10th | 11th | 12th |
2 reflections completed by year end | 2 reflections completed by year end | 1 completed by year end | 1 culminating reflection due by senior presentation |

What is the difference between a job shadow and a mentorship?
The purpose of job shadowing is to expose students to a professional environment and field of interests where they can experience a “day in the life” of a career for a minimum of two hours. Mentorships provide a practical experience for students to gain knowledge of an occupation in a professional setting for a minimum of 20 hours. Students may follow their parents for a job shadow, but not for a mentorship.
Can students count their regular jobs as their job shadow and/or mentorships?
How can students start looking for Job Shadow and Mentorship opportunities?
Students can find a job shadow using their own resources or they can make an appointment with Mr. Darcy. They will need to turn in a job shadow application and upload a reflection. Students can make an appointment with Mrs. Tarlo for help finding a mentorship. All paperwork and forms can be found in pathwayMANAGER under the mentorship tab.
Potential mentorship opportunities can be found on the high school’s Web site under “Program Opportunities.”
How do students get started with mentorships?
