Honors Courses

Honors courses are provided in a number of different subject areas. The purpose of these courses is to provide a more rigorous and demanding academic challenge for eligible students. Motivation, attitude, and previous academic preparation, to a great extent, determine success in honors courses.

Course Weights
Courses are weighted to provide students with an incentive to select courses, which are appropriate for their level of achievement and future goals. The three levels of weighting are 1.0, 1.25, and 1.5 with the highest weight placed on the accelerated and more rigorous courses. Honors courses are weight at 1.25.
